BBV"s LM24 Pre-Race Need2Knows

As you enjoy a lap of 2011 Le Mans with Gavin, C6R, and the [about to overwhelm you] SpeedTV / Corvette marketing partnership [Hmm, who started this C6R Lap o'LM thing, again?], let's GET up to speed on what you 'need' to know for the race.

Starting with godug feedback to BBV -

* "Working to get a car that is drivable in all weather conditions so that each of the 3 drivers for each car are really comfortable."

* "Learned a lot last night which we will employ."

* "Sheer speed / acceleration rate of the BMWs will be difficult to overcome. So, simply not concerned with the pole."

* "Will rely on great drivability, race strategy, pit stop execution to maximize our performance."

* Weather will be a great equalizer. Which is why CR is dialed-in for all conditions.

* Check the Official Qualifying Report - the individual car pages - for details as to Sector times - Corvette vs competition.

But, let BBV save you some time -

* Looking at actual Qual Laps vs the Theoretical Best [eg; Adding together best sector times - S1 = Start-line to start of Mulsanne / S2 = Mulsanne / S3 = back to Finish-line], note this -

- BMW has another 0.5 / half second of more speed in hand.
- Porsche has 0.6 more to tap.
- Corvette and Ferrari Qualified on their Theoretical Bests.

* WHERE the time is coming -

- BMW and Ferrari best in S1, by 0.5
- BMW 0.4 to 0.7 quicker on Mulsanne
- BMW quickest in S3, by 0.4 to F / 0.9 to P / 1.1 to CR

As godug said - Strategy, Weather Drivability, Pit Stops are the Corvette Racing Plan.
And the other Corvette strength? Adaptability.
Or as BBV calls it - Team Character.

The LM clock will soon be going all 'Right Angle' green.
So, what do you have to say about the Corvette Racing / LM24?
