| Corvette Racing came to Virginia with a chance to clinch the Manufactures and Team Championship. Check, and Check!
The weekend did not start off great, with the Vettes qualifying P8 & 9 due to weather conditions and dirty race track.
Come race day, the team had the major task of battling back up through the field. With some great driving, and blistering pit stops, both cars saw as high as 3rd and 4th. A tough battle at the end pushed the #4 back to P6, with the #3 finishing P3.
Congrats goes to Risi Competizione for their first win of the season.
With only 24 possible points to score at the final race, Corvette Racing and Chevrolet clinched the Team and Manufactures Championship.
On the same note, Tommy Milner and Oliver Gavin are now mathematically out of the drivers championship, 25 points behind the leaders.
Drivers Championship points after VIR:
125: Antonio Garcia / Jan Magnussen
-16: Dirk Mueller
-25: Tommy Milner / Oliver Gavin
The final race the the 2013 season will be Pitit Le Mans on October 19th.
