When the racing season starts, the social media marketing is given its green flag, too. So, here is CR's 1st 2011 installment.
GT rules now allow paddle-shifting. Computer control synchonizes lift-without-shift throttle control and the actual gear-change. No clutch. And on downshifts, the Corvette driver clicks the paddle as many times as needed to get to the gear desired for the corner and viola - The computer times the downshifts without overrevs. When all of THAT shifting work is out of the way - way before corner entry, and both feet are avail to balance gas / brake - racing the corners and the competition gets undistracted focus.
Subtley referenced in the video, the team has been 'amazed' to see near-zero wear on the gears and dog rings, thanks to the precise computer management of the process.
Easy on the equipment, faster on the time-clock. A win-win all-around.
