| ALMS LMPC Needs 2B Corvette | |
|
|
SpeedTV.com posts a story about the 2010 ALMS LMPC car that was avail for test drives / purchase the day after Petit Le Mans. 14 drivers took to the cockpit [as seen above].
BBV has been following this car for a bit here and here. Key point is that every car in the LMPC class runs a 6.2L Corvette LS3 engine - supplied as a ‘crate motor’ from the GM Performance Parts catalog. We think the next step is logical. EVERY LMPC car [and the entire clsss] needs to be branded 'Corvette-Powered'. The benefits?
* You wouldn't be able to watch an ALMS race without CONSTANT VISIBILITY of the Corvette / Chevy / GM brands.
* Corvette will be there to win 2 of the 4 ALMS classes - 50% of the total podium time [plus Michelin Green X Challenge wins]!
* Corvette will be positioned as a talent-development-friendly 'patron-of-the-sport' as the LMPC class is designed to nuture talent - driving and teams.
* Corvette will become the [Joyce Julius] dominant brand in ALMS, based on total exposure [especially as there is no series title-sponsor].
We think the Laguna weekend would be a nice opp for GM / ALMS to meet / discuss the benefits. If they haven't started talking already. Soooo....? |
