| Never question the philosophies of a Don (or a Godug).
After the LMS Monza race, "mike from or on 04.20.07 at 4:47 am" (post race, post bar hopping?) was all over us for dissing the Italian Saleen team.
.....and we did "ignore" them for finishing 5th, more than a few laps down to the winning Corvette, (while the Oreca Saleen broke and the Astons finished behind us.......again).
But, no one is taking the Le Mans competition lightly. The competition is toughening up their talents and La Sarthe will be a real "go to the mattresses" fight.
As evidence, LMS Round 2 in Valencia has the 2 Saleens (yes, Italian Racing Box team is noted) 1-2 in qualifying ahead of the Alphand C6.R, an AM, and the Alphand C5.R team car. Qual times were close, but every nano second is counted and the bottom-line is we are not in front. Let's see how the race goes. |
