| 'Batou from Mayenne/France' inquired about the new cooling system and the fan on the back of the C6.R, so BBV went into CSI- New Hudson, MI mode to find out more.
We've learned that the new a/c system collects air from 2 places - from the front to bring air into the system, and from the rear to cool off the condenser. Hence, the "official" explanation for the fan..... "To help cool the car".....
Hmm......Just like F1 designer, Gordon Murray, said about his controversial 1-race Brabham BT46B fancar of 1978. Closer to Chevrolet home is the Chaparral 2J fancar with a lawn mower type engine powering two fans. That beast apparently sucked itself to the track as soon as you started the auxiliary motor.....even when sitting on the starting grid!
OMG... the C6.R has induced ground effects!
Someone check the pits for Jim Hall and go hide the rule book.
.......and what's with the black holes on the front of the door mirrors?..........BBV says they are really electromagnetic laser cannon turrets to buzz competitor's ECUs.
Godug stops at nothing to make Corvette Racing a winner! |
