| Chevrolet Division says, even in these tough times, it's OK to talk Corvette. So, they announced their investment in the brand with a new model - the return of the Grand Sport.
CorvetteBlogger covered the on-site events @ the National Corvette Museum's C5/C6 Bash.
The official GM press release says it all - Grand Sport is “one of the most storied monikers in Corvette’s illustrious racing heritage”. And every true Corvette fan loves talking about Corvette Racing. From the 1st C1 race car to the up-coming 'but keep it under-the-radar' GT2.
Grand Sport started with the original 5 [Here's another '63 GS pic]. Reappeared via the 1996 version [Here's a Callaway GS!]. Hung around via the replica biz. And now it's factory-back in 2010.
A few links to get you in the GS mood - 1963 GS History. GS Registry. GS Replicas. 1996 GS. PS - Look closely @ the pic above.
Since the 1st GS stripe was not a fender stripe [The Nassau GS cars ran diff colored NOSE stripes], we played the stripe graphics off the new side vents. Now, simply apply the Jake logo anywhere you want on THIS tribute to Corvette Racing. |
