| Denis [The Bear] Hulme, the New Zealand racing legend that put McLaren on the map in the 70's, especially in his role in 'The Bruce and Denny Show' in the Can-Am, is the inspiration for the Supercar you see.
Autoblog has been following this car's development for a while. Here, here, and here. Somewhere in the plan, the builders jettisoned BMW power for Corvette Grunt. Z06 AND ZR1 power options.
Hulme [the original] fed off Chevy power as the McLaren Can-Am's morphed from Traco-Olds in the 60's to HUGE Reynolds aluminum Bowtie powerplants! That the new Hulme does the same assures BBV that logic in the world sometimes still prevails.
