| Did The US See The Corvettes Win? | |

| #3 wins GT1 @ Mosport. But, you would never know from the broadcast coverage. * Almost NO TV time for what Speed Channel must see as only an intra-squad scrimmage.
Phoenix wins in Budapest. But, in the US who knew with NO coverage? * 44,000 fans watched the Marcel Fässler / Jean-Denis Deletraz Phoenix Carsport Corvette C6R win on Saturday [the 1-hour qualifying race] and, again, on Sunday in the main event. Fässler also took pole position to start the weekend’s Phoenix Phun. At least, there is global coverage for the FIA-GT racing.
Point is - Except to we ‘pre-washed masses’ that already love Corvette, 'The Word' is NOT getting out to the rest of the US car audience……STILL.
Memo to GM - Love that you fund Corvette Racing. But, what's the point if no one knows. Move CR to GT2 so it gets coverage OR build the EVO and race at the real front. Respectfully, please remind yourself that racing is a technical AND a marketing enterprise. No publicity = no benefit to help you sell more Corvettes, Chevies, etc. [...and the solution is NOT to pull the plug and leave yourself with NO marketing / NO tech transfer].
That said - Congrats on 2 more Corvette wins! |
