| "And they seem like such nice boys," said my mom.....
Did Johnny O'Connell and Olivier Beretta [or shall we say Brad and Edward] decide pit lane was the perfect venue for racing fisticuffs, or was it all in the good old 'competitive-passion-of-the-moment' fun? We think the latter.
The 2 Corvettes pitting at the same time 2 hours into the race lit the wick on their championship-battling competitive fires. A fender-to-fender hip check got Beretta out first, but both cars were delivered penalties for this bad boy incident. On-track, O'Connell made a winning pass at the 25 minute-to-go mark.
"It was just like two buddies punching each on the arm.", said Johnny.
O'Connell and Magnussen now hold a 16-point championship lead. Beretta and Gavin rented the 'Fight Club' movie to plan their strategies for the rest of the season. Nobody questions now if these guys are really racing!
