Sebring 10 ....plus 1

Corvette Racing will say farewell to GT1 racing @ Sebring with another class victory.

The race will mark the end of an era that started in 1999 [yes, that's a Daytona pic....all we could find]. GT1 'commemorative' cars and graphics [race and street] will make their official debuts.
BUT, got to call out the GM math - 2009 race is the ELEVENTH Sebring appearance.
[....Hope the Viability Plan is more numerically / chronologically accurate].

* The last GT1 C6R's will race for the first time on THIS year’s E85R brew [1st time on E85 @ Sebring for Corvette] as the EPIC ethanol council / sponsorship got chopped with the last corn field plow-over [kidding!] and VP is doing the 2009 supply.

* Driver debuts and coordination are the big test for the team. CR regulars Magnussen-O’Connell and Beretta-Gavin are joined by Garcia and Fässler here [as they will be @ Le Mans and Petite]. It’s the big stage, now, boys. Make us proud of our confidence in you.

* A few new car tweaks will likely emerge as this race IS the Le Mans test.

* On-track action starts with the Wednesday test.

But, while waiting, drop back in time thanks to David Palmeter’s web coverage of C5 Corvette Racing [and more] to see how it all started 10....or 11 years ago.
